Latest Results from the AMANDA Telescope

By Stefan Schlenstedt, DESY Zeuthen

AMANDA is a high-energy neutrino telescope located at the South Pole. The primary goal of the experiment is the observation of extra-terrestrial high-energy neutrinos. The latest results on the measurements of fluxes of neutrinos with energies between 1011 and 1018 eV are presented. Different searches for neutrinos from point sources or an excess in any direction (diffuse flux) are discussed. Neutrinos from dark matter annihilation in the center of the Earth and Sun are also sought. A short status of the construction and scientific potential of the IceCube experiment will be given.
