Implications of B→φ K_S result for flavor models

We consider the CP violation structure of unification-scale theories, and examine what kinds of high scale theories could give a large non-Standard Model CP asymmetry in B→φ K_S (if the BELLE result were confirmed). Constraints from other phenomena are included. It turns out that large classes of high scale theories could not produce such an asymmetry.
